Join the Historical Black Press Foundation every September for the Black Press All Star Awards at which we honor Black media professionals, publishers and authors. Plus we pick the Black Writer of the Year. Last year's winner was National Best selling Author Earl Sewell who has written four novels which include, Through Thick and Thin, The Good Got To Suffer With the Bad, The Flip Side of Money and his debut title Taken for Granted, which was originally published through his own company, Katie Books. In 2005 he was named as Black Writer of the Year by the Historical Black Press Foundation for his coming of age novel, The Good Got To Suffer With the Bad. His work has also appeared in several anthologies, which include Sistersgirls.com and After Hours: A Collection of Erotic Writing by Black Men.

Since 2000, HBPF has fostered dialogue between the mainstream media and minority news organizations, executives and professionals. HBPF gives exposure minority media execs, professionals, authors and companies committed to diversity.
