(BlackPressMagazine.com) – He's perhaps one of the most recognizable faces from the hit reality TV series, "I Love New York," but Mr. Boston isn't smiling.
He's upset that he wasn't chosen to woo Tiffany Pollard a.k.a. "New York." He and his identical twin brother switched identities on the series reunion, surprising New York when she couldn't tell the difference between the brothers' kisses.
"Why did you do this to me?" she said jokingly.
New York admitted that "Mr. Boston [was] the best kisser in the house" but it was Tango a.k.a. Patrick S. Hunter who won her heart.
"Tango, New York wants you to be her rock," she said during the series finale. He responded by dropping to one knee and proposing to her. Although New York accepted his proposal, it was Tango who called off the wedding after returning home from the taping and discovering his bride-to-be spent a sizable about of time dissing his mother on national television.
"She was dissing me harder than the dudes was," Tango said during the reunion. "I have absolutely no love for New York."
During a podcast interview, Mr. Boston confessed to Black Press Radio.com that he's "pissed that she didn't pick me. She didn't get to experience the Boston Charm." Mr. Boston also admits that his on-screen beef with winner-up "Chance" is real and that he's been spending time in the gym in hopes for a rematch.
"I've put on five pounds of muscle in six months so bring it on Chance," he said. "I'm making sure that if I'm ever in that situation again that I won't be embarrassed."
During the interview, Mr. Boston provides never before heard comments on why he went on the show, how he's mending his broken heart and what he's up to next, including dealings for his own spin-off TV show.
“I Love New York” was a spin off of the reality shows “Flavor of Love” that made the VH1 Network the most popular cable network in African American households throughout its season run. The show is a dating show where men competed for the attention of “New York,” a self-professed ghetto fabulous woman whose real name is Tiffany Pollard. "I Love New York" took the number spot and “Charm School,” the network’s newest reality offering benefited from its lead-in to capture second place.
Within 48 hours of the podcast interview with Tango more than 5,000 people had listened to the podcast and about 3,500 had downloaded the show. The interview was Tango's first since the reunion show aired and is already national news and burning of the Internet message boards and websites like MySpace.com, BlackVoices and Sister2Sister.
"It was amazing how quickly people found out about the interview and how intensely they reacted," said DC Livers who conducts the interview. I had no idea that he'd say some of the things he said but I can certainly see why New York chose Tango," said Livers who is managing editor for Black Press Magazine. "He was one of the most challenging, unpredictable people I've interviewed. Most people from these types of shows have short shelf live, but if he keeps it up I wouldn't be surprised if he's hear to stay."
