Bare, Bold & Brazen: Mo'Nique poses nude for Ebony, says "It's my turn now" Mo'Nique takes it off in Ebony magazine

(BlackPressMagazine.com) - Once starved for attention, today Black actress, comedian and TV show host Mo'Nique Imes' publicity cup is running over.

Mo'Nique is no stranger to sexual controversy. In July 2004 issue of Essence magazine she confided in interviewer and fellow comedian Steve Harvey, "I can't wait for Hugh Hefner to ask me to pose." Two years later she was back, this time in the July 2006 issue of Essence talking candidly and revealing her "open" marriage to hubby Sidney Hicks.

"Sid and I don’t put a label on what works for us because it’s ours," Mo'Nique told Essence. "Some people might say that we have an open relationship. Some people consider sex outside of marriage to be cheating, but I think you’re cheating when you lie and keep secrets. We’re honest with each other, she said."

Now Mo'Nique is gracing the cover of August 2007 Ebony magazine sans clothing and complete with a bubble bath with the headline "Mo'Nique: Bare, bold and brazen." The magazine is currently on newsstands.

The actress/comedian, who as the host of VH1's 'Charm School' was recently in the center of a controversy that involved the degradation of Black women and excess use of the words, "bitch" and "ho," tells Ebony, “That’s right. Move over, Tyra [Banks] and Naomi [Campbell]. It’s my turn now.”

The full-figured actress who says she is "proud and unapologetic about being fabulous and thick” also discusses her roles on the third season of Oxygen’s reality show “Mo’Nique’s F.A.T. Chance," her comedy tour, AIDS activism and her views on the N-word.

Mo'Nique also hosted the 2007 BET Awards at which singer Beyonce Knowles and songwriter Ne-Yo won for "Best Song". Stay tuned for a our full report on the BET Awards.
